The Format
The format of this race is unlike any other in the state of Nebraska, but the basic premise is a relay race. Imagine a typical track relay that each person runs one lap around the track and then passes the baton to their next teammate. The Market To Market Relay is similar to that with a few minor modifications.
[1] Each team will have a vehicle that will transport all of the runners to the next exchange point
[2] Each runner will run multiple legs of the race
[3] Distances vary from about 3 to 5 miles per leg
The Basic Overview
Teams will have official vehicles, and will drop their runners off at Exchange Points, then drive the remainder of the team to the next Exchange Point to wait for the runner. The next runner in line then takes the “baton” and continues running. The recently finished runner then gets into the vehicle with the rest of the team and drives to the next Exchange Point.
